Configuring the Component Type

You can view and configure information about the component type (as it is published to the library).

  1. Select the component whose properties you want to edit, and click the Properties button on the Component Title Bar.

  2. From the Properties dialog box, click the Component Type tab.

The information displayed includes the component’s full name, display name, version number, icon, and description. You cannot change the information.

  3. Set the When Loading Model Use option to specify which version of the component to use if the component has more than one published version in the library (only available with a local library—standalone installation).

    Option Description
The Latest Version Select this option to always load the most recent version of the component from the library. This is the default setting.
This Specific Version Select this option to always load the version specified in the Version field (to the left of the list) when the selection is originally made.

You can set this option for each component in your model. When the model is reloaded, the version of the component that is returned from the library is based on this setting.

  4. Click OK to save your changes and to close the Properties dialog box.
