Selecting the Airbag Parameters

You can select the parameters present in the Airbag card.

Before you begin: You must first select the input file and prepare the component (see Selecting an Input File and Preparing the Component). In addition, you must select the AIRBAG accessory in the LS-DYNA Prepare Wizard.

  1. Double-click the LS-DYNA component icon .

    The LS-DYNA Component Editor appears.

  2. In the LS-DYNA Component Editor, click the Input tab.

  3. Click the Airbag subtab.

    The AIRBAG WANG subtab appears.

    The Airbag tab has AIRBAG WANG, MAT FABRIC and AIRBAG INTERACTION subtabs.

  4. On the AIRBAG WANG subtab, Airbag IDs and their properties such as VentholeSize(A23), VentholeSize Scale, InflatorCurve_ID, Inflator SFO, and TTF, and their values are displayed.

    You can select the following parameters for each Airbag ID:

    • VentholeSize(A23)
    • VentholeSize Scale
    • InflatorCurve_ID
    • Inflator SFO
    • TTF

  5. Select the parameters you want to use in your Isight model by doing any of the following:

    Option Description
    Click the check box Select an individual parameter.
    Check Select all the parameters.
    Uncheck Clear all the selected parameters.

  6. Add the selected parameters to the Isight Parameter area at the bottom of the component editor.

    Click to add the selected parameters to the Isight Parameter area.

    Click to remove the selected parameters from the Isight Parameter area.

    The parameters added to the Isight Parameter area are added to Isight and can be used with your Isight model.

  7. If desired, edit the Isight Parameter Value.

  8. Click the MAT FABRIC subtab.

    The MAT IDs and FLC, FAC and ELA of the selected MAT_ID are displayed.

    You can select the following parameters for each MAT ID:

    • Young's modulus
    • Poisson's ratio
    • Shear modulus
    • FLC
    • FAC
    • ELA

  9. Select the parameters you want to use in your Isight model by doing any of the following:

    Option Description
    Click the check box Select an individual parameter.
    Check Select all the parameters.
    Uncheck Clear all the selected parameters.

  10. Add the selected parameters to the Parameter area at the bottom of the component editor.

    Click to add the selected parameters to the Parameter area.

    Click to remove the selected parameters from the Parameter area.

    The parameters added to the Parameter area are added to Isight and can be used with your Isight model.

  11. If desired, edit the Isight Parameter Value.

  12. Click the AIRBAG INTERACTION subtab.

    The Area, Shape Factor, PID and LCID of the selected Airbag_ID are displayed.

    You can select the following parameters for each Airbag ID:

    • Area
    • Shape Factor
    • PID
    • LCID

  13. Select the parameters you want to use in your Isight model by doing any of the following:

    Option Description
    Click the check box Select an individual parameter.
    Check Select all the parameters.
    Uncheck Clear all the selected parameters.

  14. Add the selected parameters to the Parameter area at the bottom of the component editor.

    Click to add the selected parameters to the Parameter area.

    Click to remove the selected parameters from the Parameter area.

    The parameters added to the Parameter area are added to Isight and can be used with your Isight model.

  15. If desired, edit the Isight Parameter Value.

  16. Click to move the selected parameter up in the table, or click to move the selected parameter down in the table.
