Resynchronizing a Reference

When a model contains a Reference component that is configured to refer to a published model, the published model does not become part of the referencing model. Therefore, it is possible for the published model to be altered so that it no longer matches the configuration of the Reference component. A new version of the model can be published, or the existing version can be replaced.

Any of the following changes can affect references:

  • The variable values exposed in the published model can change.
  • The published model can be edited to expose more, or fewer, variables of the model’s root component. Variables can be added to, or deleted from, the root component.
  • The published model may have been deleted from one location and republished to another location.
  • The published model may have been permanently deleted.

If necessary, you can resynchronize the Reference component.

  1. Double-click the Reference component icon .

    The Reference Component Editor appears.

  2. From the Reference Component Editor, click Sync to Model.

Isight loads a new version of the published model’s interface from the configured location and reconfigures the Reference component to match it.

If the published model has been moved or deleted, click Choose Model and select a replacement model.

  3. Click OK to save your changes and to close the Reference Component Editor.

If the set of variables has changed, you may need to edit the model to reflect the changes.
