Setting MS Word Options for Windows Stations

You can make certain configurations to reduce the risk of jobs failing when executing Word components on Windows stations.

  1. Enable Word macros (see Configuring the Excel or Word Macro Security Settings).

  2. Execute Word components on a SIMULIA Execution Engine station being run as a Windows service:

    1. Create a specific directory (see Verifying that the Desktop Folder Exists).
    2. Edit the UAC (User Account Controls) Settings (see Editing User Account Controls).

  3. Execute Word components on a SIMULIA Execution Engine station with the run-as feature enabled on Windows OS:

    1. Replace a Process Level Token (see Replacing a Process Level Token).
    2. Create an environment variable (see Creating an Environment Variable).
    3. Edit the UAC (User Account Controls) settings (see Editing User Account Controls).
    4. Ensure that you have Administrator privileges. Alternatively, you can start a station manually by running the station executable program as Administrator.

  4. Restart the machine running the SIMULIA Execution Engine station.

  5. You can add several options to the station.properties file, and property values can be changed based on load. If you change any setting in the station.properties file, you must restart the SIMULIA Execution Engine station. For more information, see Configuring station.properties Values.
