Configuring a Description File

You use the iSIGHT component to import an iSIGHT description file into Isight. After importing the file, you can select the run mode that you want Isight to use when executing the iSIGHT component.

  1. Double-click the iSIGHT component icon .

    The iSIGHT Component Editor appears.

  2. From the iSIGHT Component Editor, click Browse.

The Select Description File dialog box appears.

  3. Select the description file that you want to use, and click Open.

Isight creates an input file that records the description file that the iSIGHT component runs once you configure the component. You can map the file parameters from one component to another.

For more information about parameter mapping, see Mapping Parameters and File Parameters in the Isight User’s Guide.

  4. If desired, click Edit to update the input file’s parameter settings.

For more information about the settings, see Configuring the File Parameter Information.

  5. From the iSIGHT Run Mode list, select the run mode:

    Option Description
Single iSIGHT runs a single task evaluation. iSIGHT retains the design variable values for the best design state and determines which single run can be instructed to re-run. This option is useful in the following cases:
    • Evaluating a single new design point
    • Testing the task set-up for correctness and design feasibility
    • Re-running the best design case of a prior iteration
Task Plan iSIGHT executes the Task Plan steps (design exploration tools) one at a time and automatically performs iterations until the best result is found.
Optimization Plans iSIGHT iteratively executes the task under the control of an optimization technique.
Design of Experiments Plan iSIGHT executes the task under the control of a new DOE study.

For more information about these modes, see Working with Task Plans in the Isight User’s Guide.

  6. Click OK to save your changes and to close the iSIGHT Component Editor.
