About Working with Parameters and File Parameters

You can work with parameters and file parameters in the Design Gateway and the Runtime Gateway.

You work with parameters using one of the following tabs, or a combination of these tabs, located in the Design Gateway and the Runtime Gateway.

  • Parameters tab. From the Design Gateway, you can create and edit parameters. From the Runtime Gateway, you can edit and view parameter information prior to and following execution. For more information, see Using Parameters.

  • Files tab. From the Design Gateway, you can create and edit file parameters as described in Using File Parameters.

  • Dataflow tab. From the Design Gateway, you can specify the parameter and file parameter dataflow and mappings as described in Mapping Parameters and File Parameters.

  • History tab. From the Runtime Gateway, you can view parameter information following execution. For more information, see Using Parameters.

You can also define lower/upper bounds, objectives, scale factors, and weight factors for scalar parameters and array elements as described in Using Problem Formulations.

Several options are available to make it easier to work with parameters and file parameters. You can customize the display to show only certain columns as described in Setting the Displayed Columns on the Parameters and Files Tabs. You can view parameters and file parameters from different components simultaneously as described in Comparing Parameters for Multiple Components. If you no longer need a parameter or file parameter, you can delete them as described in Deleting Parameters and File Parameters.
