Viewing the Parameter Mappings Between Components

You can view a visual representation of how the data in the model flows from one component to another component in the Design Gateway and in the Runtime Gateway. You use the Dataflow tab to view the representation. By default, the Dataflow tab in the Runtime Gateway is hidden.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • From the Design Gateway:

      1. Open a model, and click the Dataflow tab.
      2. Click the Overview subtab.

    • From the Runtime Gateway:

      1. Open a model or execute a model.
      2. Select Dataflow from the View menu.

The overview shows the flow of data between components, including the number of parameters mapped between each component.

  2. Select which mappings you want to view, as desired:

    • Click the button to show or hide the file parameter mappings displayed on the Dataflow tab. By default, the button is selected and the associated mappings are displayed along with the number of mappings between the components.

    • Click the button to show or hide the parameter mappings (regular parameters) displayed on the Dataflow tab. By default, the button is selected and the associated mappings are displayed along with the number of mappings between the components.

Note: You can select the show and hide parameter buttons at the same time. However, you cannot turn off both options. One must always be selected.

  3. From the Design Gateway, you can view the names of the parameters that are being mapped by doing one of the following:

    • Click the Dataflow Link button to manually select two components and view the mappings between them.

      1. Click the first component.
      2. Drag the mouse pointer to the second component.

    • Double-click an existing dataflow link to view parameter mappings for the link.

The Parameter Mapping dialog box appears showing the parameters between the components.

      1. If desired, adjust the mappings between the components in the Design Gateway.

For more information, see Mapping Parameters and File Parameters.

      2. Click Done to exit the Parameter Mapping dialog box and to return to the Dataflow tab.

  4. If desired, you can manipulate the Dataflow tab using the same tools used to manipulate the canvas.

For more information, see Manipulating the Canvas.
