Executing a Component

You can initiate the execution of any single component in the model from the Design Gateway or from the Runtime Gateway. Selecting and executing the root (top-level) component also runs the entire model. Once you begin to run the component from the Design Gateway, the Isight Runtime Gateway appears and you can use it to control model execution and to view results.

You can execute a component using the default options as described below. Alternatively, you can configure the execution options and run the component. For more information, see Accessing the Job Database Interface.

  1. From the gateway, select a component from the model explorer or from the Sim-flow tab.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • If you are working in the Design Gateway:

      • Click the button on the component title bar to execute the selected component.

The Runtime Gateway opens, and Isight executes the component using the default execution options.

    • If you are working in the Runtime Gateway:

      • Click the button and select Run Component.

Isight executes the component using the default execution options.

Tip: You can also execute a component by right-clicking a component in the simulation process flow, and clicking one of the following:
    • Run > Configure and Run > Component
    • Run > Run Component > Local

  3. If you are connected to a SIMULIA Execution Engine, click the button from the Design Gateway or the Runtime Gateway, then select Test Locally to execute the component locally instead of using the SIMULIA Execution Engine environment.
