Executing a Model Based on Data from a Prior Run

You can select a run and re-execute the model based on the values of a selected run. This process is known as initializing the model. The parameter values are updated for each component in the model’s execution path.

When you execute a model, the parameter values are not updated in the model, but are saved as results with the job. Therefore, when you execute the model again, the parameters are still at their original values. Initializing a model can be useful because using a best result and restarting execution from the last, best point can lead to a better result.

  1. From the Runtime Gateway, select a component using the model explorer.

  2. Click the History tab, and select the run whose parameter values you want to use.

    Isight highlights the run.

  3. Right-click the run, and select Init model from this run.

The Model Changed Choice dialog box appears, warning you that the job results will be cleared.

  4. Click OK.

The Save Changes dialog box appears.

  5. Click Yes to save the changes to the model.

A dialog box appears allowing you to save the model to your system.

  6. Save the model with a new file name. Renaming the model is recommended because the model has changed.

The new model is loaded automatically into the Runtime Gateway.

  7. Execute the model.
