Static stress analysis

A static stress analysis:

  • is used when inertia effects can be neglected;

  • can be linear or nonlinear; and

  • ignores time-dependent material effects (creep, swelling, viscoelasticity) but takes rate-dependent plasticity and hysteretic behavior for hyperelastic materials into account.
