Referencing a Submodel

You can reference an internal submodel currently defined in your model. Submodels must be created from the Design Gateway before they can be used within the Reference component.

  1. Double-click the Reference component icon .

    The Reference Component Editor appears.

  2. From the Reference Component Editor, click Choose Model.

The Select Reference Model dialog box appears.

  3. From the Select Reference Model dialog box, expand the Internal Submodels option on the left side of the dialog box.

All the internal submodels currently defined in your model are listed. The root component icon and name appear for each submodel.

Important: Submodels must be created from the Design Gateway before they can be used within the Reference component. For more information about how to create submodels and the benefits of using submodels, see Using Submodels and Referenced Models in the Isight User’s Guide.

  4. Click the submodel that you want to use.

The submodel’s information appears on the right side of the dialog box.

  5. Verify that you have selected the correct submodel, and click Select Model.

The Reference Component Editor appears with the selected model’s information displayed.

  6. If necessary, change any input and output parameter values.
