About Visualizing Approximations

Graphs provide a visual representation of your approximation. They are displayed on the right side of the Approximation Viewer or the Visualization subtab in a small, thumbnail view.

They can be viewed in a number of ways, altered by changing input values, and changed by selecting different parameter combinations to display and modify various graph options. You can observe the relative effects of the inputs on the outputs using the graphs.

Note: The graphs are created using values from the approximation, not from actual values from executing the component. The actual behavior of the output parameters of the component will be different to some degree, depending on the errors of the approximation. To assess this difference, see Adjusting Input and Output Values.

You can work with two-dimensional graphs, three-dimensional graphs, contour graphs, local effects graphs, and global effects graphs.
