Specifying Database Options

You can specify the local database options.

  1. Execute the gateway program using one of the following options:

    • Windows: Click the Start button, and point to All Programs > Isight x.x and click Design Gateway.

    • Linux: From a command prompt, navigate to the Isight installation directory (if necessary), and execute the gateway file. This file is located in the <Isight_install_directory>/<operating_system>/code/bin/ directory.

    The Design Gateway appears.

Note: By default, the Logon dialog box, which is used to specify a SIMULIA Execution Engine connection or Standalone mode, does not appear. The Design Gateway is automatically started in Standalone mode. You must first specify an additional connection profile to see the Logon dialog box. For more information, see About Connection Profiles.

  2. From the Design Gateway Edit menu, select Preferences.

The Isight Preferences dialog box appears.

  3. Click the Local Results Database option on the left side of the dialog box.

    The database options appear.

  4. If you want to save your results information, select Save results to local database. You can start using Isight with the database at this point—no other setting changes are necessary.

You can also save results on a per execution basis using the Write results to database check box on the Run Info dialog box (using the Configure and Run option). For more information on these settings, see Setting Execution Options and Running a Job.

  5. If desired, change the location where the data are stored. By default, this location is in your home directory (in the Documents and Settings directory on Windows) in a new directory called isight-xx. You can change this setting by clearing (unchecking) the Use my home directory option, and specifying the new location in the Database location text box. You can type the directory name directly into the text box or click Browse to locate it.

  6. If desired, change the port number used by the database. Unless prompted by Isight, you should not have to change this setting. If necessary, the setting is changed by clearing (unchecking) the Use default port for database connection check box, and specifying the new location in the Port number text box.

  7. Click OK to close the dialog box and to save your changes.
