Moving Objects from the Isight Library to the Simulation Process Flow

You can move models and components from the Isight library to the simulation process flow in the Design Gateway.

If you move a component from the Isight library to the Design Gateway, you may need to use the encapsulation feature to build a new model around the component. For more information, see Encapsulating Components.

  1. From the View menu, select Library or click the Library button on the Design Gateway toolbar.

    The Isight Library appears.

  2. Select the object that you want to move to the Design Gateway and continue holding down the mouse button.

  3. Drag the selected item to the proper location in the simulation process flow. You may need to move the Isight library window to view the simulation process flow.

  4. Release the mouse button when the object is in the desired location.

If you are adding a component (metamodel), an instance of that component is created.

If you are adding a model for which you only have REFERENCE permission, the model is created as a new model that references the original model in the Isight library.

If you are adding a model for which you have ALTER, MODIFY, or READ permission, the Reference or Copy? dialog box appears.

  5. If you are adding a model for which you have ALTER, MODIFY, or READ permission, do the following:

    1. From the Reference or Copy? dialog box, choose one of the following:

      • Select Copy to create a new model in the Design Gateway that is separate from the original model in the Isight library.
      • Select Reference to create a new model in the Design Gateway that references the original model in the Isight library.

For more information on the difference between copying and referencing in Isight, see Using Submodels and Referenced Models.

    2. Click OK.

Isight adds the model to the simulation process flow.

  6. Click OK to close the Isight library.
