Customizing the time history of synchronized viewports

The time history settings control whether Abaqus/CAE uses a frame-based history or a time-based history when you display time history animations. Frame-based synchronization allows all synchronized viewports to increment together one frame at a time, while time-based synchronization allows viewports to display data according to a common time line.

Context:

When you choose time-based animation, you can also customize three aspects of the common time line:

  • The time step, which controls how much time elapses each time you increment your display of the data.

  • The minimum time, which is the earliest point from which data will be included. If you auto-compute the minimum time, Abaqus/CAE includes data starting from the beginning of the common time line.

  • The maximum time, which is the latest point from which data will be included. If you auto-compute the maximum time, Abaqus/CAE includes data up to the end of the common time line.

  1. Find the Time History options.

In the prompt area, click Animation Options; and click the Time History tab in the dialog box that appears.

  2. From the options at the top of the page, choose either Frame-based or Time-based.

  3. If desired, change the Time increment value. The time increment applies to time-based animation only.

  4. If desired, customize the Min time and Max time by entering values in the appropriate Specify fields. These values apply to time-based animation only.

  5. Click Apply.
